Darjeeling Loose Leaf
Darjeeling Loose Leaf
We are proud to offer this rare high mountain tea grown at 8,000 feet along the Himalayan foothills. Also the only tea issued a protected geographical indication (West Bengal, India) similar to Champagne or Parmiggiano Reggiano. The cool & misty mountain weather keeps leaf growth slow, which yields a masterfully scented leaf, the only tea with uniquely distinct muscatel (grapey) notes. Also prominent in this light-to-medium-bodied tea are stone fruit notes and a sweet minerality that dances on the palate. Known as the “Champagne of Teas” for it’s muscatel character, this black tea surprisingly steeps closer to a dark green tea due to its’ lightness of mouthfeel. Steep a cup and experience the elegance, rarity, and delightful experience for yourself. It’s the ultimate tea and the penultimate hug in a mug!
3 grams of tea per 1 cup/8 oz. of boiling spring water; 2.5 minutes for first steeping, then 5 minutes for second steeping.
Our sleek and simple small teapot & white teacups are the perfect vessel to steep a cup of Jasmine Pearls for you and and friend.
